Oklahoma football: Takeaways from the first 3 weeks and a 3-0 record

Oklahoma football enters the first of two bye weeks this season after putting together an impressive 3-0 record through the nonconference portion of the 2019 schedule.

The Sooners won’t play again until Sept. 28, when they will host Texas Tech in their Big 12 season opener at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

While there is plenty to like in Oklahoma’s first three games, if you ask head coach Lincoln Riley, he will tell you the Sooners are still a long way from where they need to be if they are going to win a fifth consecutive Big 12 title and 13th overall.
