Oklahoma football didn’t just walk out of its season opener with Houston as winners on the field, it appears it had the potential to pay off big on the recruiting end as well.

Oklahoma football had the spotlight all to itself as the only team playing on Sunday and Lincoln Riley took full advantage, setting up a huge recruiting weekend that has clearly started paying off already.

Riley dropped three sets of eyeball emojis signifying that three verbal commitments dropped over the holiday weekend.

Sooner fans didn’t have to wait long to hear the first one as four-star offensive tackle Anton Harrison announced he was “120  percent” committed to Oklahoma early in the week.

Harrison is the No. 20 offensive tackle in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite with offers from Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State and many others.

At 6-foot-5 and 329 pounds Harrison has the long frame to pass block on the edge and and the bulk to be a major factor in the run game. He could play college ball around that weight, but he will carry it much different once he muscles up and changes his body in Benny Wylie’s strength and conditioning program.

His commitment helps the Sooners continue to build what may very well be the best offensive line class in the country. Oklahoma football already has the No. 1 and No. 3 guards in the 2020 class in Nate Anderson and Andrew Raym. Fellow offensive tackle Noah Parks also helps bolster this group.

Most believe the Sooners will take at least one more o-lineman in this class and some are under the impression that player is one of the outstanding unknown eyeball emojis Riley tweeted out.
