Offensive Line

Besides the defense, the offensive line is definitely the teams biggest question mark, as Coach Bill Bedenbaugh has only one returning player from last season’s Joe Moore Award-winning offensive  last season.

Cody Ford was the No. 38 overall pick, taken by the Buffalo Bills, Bobby Evans went to the Los Angeles Rams with the No. 97 pick, Dru Samia was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 114th overall pick, and Ben Powers became the property of the Baltimore Ravens, selected 123rd overall.

The lone returning Sooner starter, Creed Humprey, projects as a first-round talent, and just may be better than ANY of the starters from a year ago..

Center

  1. Creed Humphrey (R-So.)
  2. Tyrese Robinson (R-So.)
  3. E.J. Ndoma-Ogar (Fr.)
  4. Clayton Woods (Sr.)

If Creed Humphrey were to go down, I believe Robinson would come from his right guard spot and fill in at center over the freshman Ogar.

Left guard

  1. Marquis Hayes (R-So.)
  2. Darrell Simpson (R-Fr.)

Hayes has this spot all but locked up, and if he improves, could be a star. He’s nasty — like Dru Samia nasty. Are you looking for an offensive lineman that will finish blocks by putting a guy into the ground? Hayes is your guy.

Left tackle

  1. R.J. Proctor (Sr.)
  2. Erik Swenson (R-Jr.)
  3. Finley Felix (So.)
  4. Michael Thompson (R-Fr.)

Proctor, a grad transfer from Virginia, I believe has a good shot at winning the Job  at left tackle. Swenson has a good of a shot as any, but I believe Proctor is starting this year somewhere. If seniority comes into factor, though, Swenson will nab the starting spot, and you’ll see Proctor lining up at right guard.

Right guard

  1. Tyrese Robinson (R-So.)
  2. Brey Walker (R-Fr.)

I think Robinson is deserving of a starting spot, and I think the move Coach Bill Bedenbaugh made this spring to move Walker from tackle to guard was to shore up the guard position. Why? Probably because Procter, a potential starter here at right guard, could very well start somewhere else this season.

Right tackle

  1. Adrian Ealy (R-So.)
  2. David Swaby (R-So.)
  3. Stacey Wilkins (Fr.)

Adrian Ealy is super talented, and I believe he’s a future pro, adding to Bedenbaugh’s growing list.
