Who leads the team in interceptions and why?

CR: Oklahoma recorded only six interceptions all of last season, and then-junior cornerback Parnell Motley had half of them. He also was credited with 11 pass breakups. Motley is a high-risk, high reward type of player. That style of play has led to him being burned on long pass plays on a number of occasions in the past, but with DC Alex Grinch wanting the Sooners to play more aggressively, that should also lead to more interception opportunities and Motley is the best of the OU corners in that category.

Brown has flashed his high potential in two seasons as a starter at Oklahoma, including a big safety that changed the momentum in last year’s 39-27 win over Texas in the Big 12 Championship game, but now with new coordinator Alex  Grinch and position coach Roy Manning, he might be ready to turn the corner and become a consistent and shutdown cornerback.
