Who is your surprise breakout player this season?

CR: Look for junior tight end Grant Calcaterra to have a breakout 2019 season, much like his predecessor, Mark Andrews, did his junior season in 2017. Calcaterra hauled in 26 passes last season for 396 yards and six touchdowns.

Andrews doubled his production between his sophomore and junior seasons, and there is no reason Calcaterra can’t follow suit as a key outlet in the Sooners’ Air Raid attack.

CD: Brayden Willis isn’t a well-known name outside of the hardcore Sooner fan circle, but he’s got all the skills and opportunity to become one in 2019.

Lincoln Riley is as good as they come when it comes to finding inventive ways to attack a defense and Willis fits his H-back mold perfectly. A talented blocker and excellent route runner, the Sooners are going to line him up all over the field and find new ways to hurt defenses similar to what they did with Dimitri Flowers a couple of years ago.
