West Virginia vs. Missouri

The Tigers return to take on the team the replaced them in the Big 12? That’s a fun storyline that could help the fine journalists at the University of Missouri produce some great features for the week leading up to the game.

More from Oklahoma Sooners

As for the two football teams it’s kind of hard to know what to expect from West Virginia under new head coach Neal Brown, though he did field some tough teams at Troy. Missouri is more of a known quantity with Barry Odom. You know you will get a hard-nosed defense with some twists and turns on the offensive side of the ball as the Tigers resemble a Big 12 squad when it comes to offensive schemes.

We could end up with a Big 12-style shootout in this one.

Oklahoma vs. Alabama

Well, it’s hard to avoid a rematch when it comes to putting the alpha dogs from the two conferences together. The Crimson Tide have won four of the last five SEC titles and the Sooners have captured five-straight Big 12 crowns.

Yes, they met a year ago in a game that certainly went Alabama’s way, but imagine Jalen Hurts going up against his old team with all the hype and pageantry that would go into that. It would easily be the best non-conference matchup of the regular season.
