Knight separates himself from the guys behind him on this list because of one game – a 45-31 victory over Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl.

For just one day Trevor Knight resembled Joe Montana, lighting up the vaunted Crimson Tide defense to the tune of 348 yards and four touchdowns in a performance that will live on forever on Sooner history.

Knight, who had passed for just 471 yards and five touchdowns in an injury- plagued season, nearly doubled those totals as Oklahoma defied the experts and Las Vegas (which had the Sooners as a 17.5 point underdog) to vindicate coach Bob Stoops’ comments about the SEC.

Much of the rest of Knight’s time at Oklahoma was unremarkable, though he does own a 1-0 record against Texas as a starter.

By 2015 Knight’s biggest contribution was as a leader. Though he lost out in the quarterback derby to Baker Mayfield, he was still a team captain on a squad that went to the College Football Playoff.
