The Big-10

Nebraska

Teams prestige: 7/10

Teams marketability: 6/10

Teams location: 10/10

Teams recruiting grounds: 2/10

Total:25-40

Nebraska to me is an interesting school to come back to the Big 12. The Corn Huskers used to be a Big 12 team until they left for the Big-10. With their back to back 4-8 seasons and their ever so dying brand, a shakeup move to the Big 12 I think would be beneficial for the program.

Why would the Big 12 go after the struggling Nebraska program?

Although Nebraska is struggling, their future looks bright. The team hired former UCF coach Scott Frost to turn around the Nebraska program, and just recently hired former Iowa State and Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg to do the same to the basketball program. (bringing in Nebraska will instantly spark an immediate Iowa State rivalry on the basketball side of things)

I personally would be down for the Big 12 to bring back Nebraska, and I think now would be the perfect time to try to attract Nebraska back to the Big 12 for a fresh start. The only thing that could prevent that from happening? The Big-10 money they’re getting. Money talks.

Iowa

Teams prestige: 6/10

Teams marketability: 5/10

Teams Location: 10/10

Teams recruiting grounds: 3/10

Total: 24-40

See a trend here? Two Big-10 teams that could have an instant rivalry with Iowa State.

I think bringing in Iowa is a really smart move in regards of bringing in a team to be close geographically to Iowa State, and being in the same conference could enhance the rivalry. Unlike Nebraska currently, Iowa has been successful in recent history in both football and basketball.

The problem? Iowa has been apart of the Big-10 since 1899, so them stepping out of the Big-10 is all but unrealistic.
