Oklahoma has talent on the roster

The Sooners have looked like a Sweet 16-type team at times this season, but rarely for a full game and almost never for multiple contests at a time. Still, there is enough firepower for this team to surprise some NCAA Tournament opponents.

When he’s on, Christian James can be counted on as one of the better scorers in the country. He gets hot from the outside and makes teams account for his 3-point shooting ability.

Brady Manek and Kristian Doolittle are both excellent defenders and can be physical on the inside at times and either can carry the scoring load when James goes cold shooting.

Freshman Jamal Bieniemy is the team’s real x-factor. He’s flashed some excellent performances, but hasn’t quite figured out how to put it all together yet this year and become the consistent scoring threat his talent can allow him to be.

Part of the reason the Sooners have been so frustrating to watch for fans is they can see all of these pieces that could very well make a good basketball team, but have had to watch as the group stumbles to put them all together. Maybe, just maybe, the Sooners can do just that over the next couple of weeks and bring home a new banner to the Lloyd Noble Center.
