Oklahoma Football: Top 5 Takeaways from Lincoln Riley’s Spring Press Conference

3. Position changes 

Along with addressing injuries right off the bat, Riley listed all of the players that would be seeing a different side of the ball this season. Riley noted that the players being shifted around would include: Michael Thompson (DL to OL), Bryce Roberts, a local walk-on, is being looked at as either a tight end or an Offensive lineman.

Braden Willis is another player on the move who is being relocated from a slot receiver to the backfield and will be supported by the efforts of fullback, Jeremiah Hall.

Riley also noted that receiver A.D Miller would be returning to Oklahoma after calling off his intention to transfer to Illinois.

4. The Spring Game 

With a smile on his face, Riley talked about how excited he is for the team’s upcoming spring game on April 13th. Riley went on to talk highly of the game that was played last year emphasizing how the deciding factors to change over to a competitive-full game worked wonders for the program. Though the weather did not fully cooperate last spring game, the fans showed up. Breaking the spring game attendance record last season with 52,000 in attendance and though it may not be a direct correlation, 11 of the potential recruits that attended the spring game are now Oklahoma Sooners.
