Jaquayln Crawford, wide receiver

The Sooners have three top-flight recruits coming in at the position, but there’s a line to become a success at receiver in Norman and Crawford has already reserved a spot.

That’s not to say he won’t end up losing reps to some younger players, but the 5-foot-10 Rockdale, Texas product will be tough to supplant on the OU depth chart going into 2019.

Last year when the Sooners were struggling to tackle in space they turned to Crawford with the thought that if defenders could track down this shifty freshman, most of the rest of the Big 12 players would be an easy target. Elite elusiveness like that can only stay on the bench for so long and Crawford should be a name everyone knows by the end of the season.

Jeremiah Hall, fullback

The Sooners got a pleasant surprise last year in the emergence of senior Carson Meier at the fullback position as Jeremiah Hall looked ready to take it over heading into fall camp.

The result was another year in the system for Hall to learn and refine his game. Now the explosive redshirt sophomore is ready to take his turn at a spot the Sooners have used to great effect in the past. Hall comes with a skill set more comparable to Dimitri Flowers than Meier, which is a good thing for the Sooners offense as Flowers became one of the most feared weapons in the country thanks to his versatility.

Under the tutelage of rising coaching star Shane Beamer, Hall appears ready to have his name called a lot more in 2019.
