No. 6 – Rodney Anderson | running back | Original rank: No. 10

The Sooners had to wait, but eventually struck gold with Anderson. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound back out of Katy, Texas starting making noise among insiders early on in his career and was rumored to be in a position to take some carries away from future NFL backs Semaje Perine and Joe Mixon, but injuries derailed his first two seasons as a Sooner. When he finally got on the field he made the most of it. He accounted for 1,333 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns in 2017 including 201 rushing yards against Georgia in the 2018 Rose Bowl. He looked set to make a run at a Doak Walker Award in 2018 when he tore his ACL in the second game of the season. For all his spectacular highlights it’s easy to forget that Anderson made nine starts as a Sooner. He could very well be No. 1 on this list if it hadn’t been for some bad luck on the injury front. Grade: Standout

No. 5 – Austin Seibert | kicker | Original rank: No. 26

It’s hard to believe that Austin Seibert was ranked last in the Sooners’ 2015 class. Obviously, some of that has to do with a rating system that doesn’t prioritize kickers and punters. Seibert will go down in NCAA history with the most points ever scored by a kicker. Add in four years as the program’s starting punter and it’s safe to say Seibert’s position in this class may be the most undervalued among the original evaluators. Seibert seems like an attractive late-round pick for the NFL draft. Grade: Standout

No. 4 – Cody Ford | offensive lineman | Original rank: No. 9

The Sooners struck gold with Ford. A physical, versitile specimen up front, Ford started at two different posititions and eventually became a first-team All Big 12 selection at right tackle. This 6-foot-4, 333-pounder is everything a Bill Bedenbaugh offensive lineman is supposed to be and could very well go in the first round of the NFL draft this April. Much like Rodney Anderson, Ford has the potential to be atop this list if he hadn’t battled injuries through some of his career. Grade: Standout
