NORMAN, OK – OCTOBER 07: Defensive back Will Johnson /

No. 9 – Will Johnson | defensive back | Original rank: No. 17

A junior college defensive back, Will Johnson became an unexpected success story during his time at Oklahoma. Johnson grew every year he was in Norman, going from a roleplayer his sophomore and junior seasons into a regular starter and Honorable Mention All Big 12 honoree in his senior season. Johnson recorded 84 tackles with eight passes broken up and two interceptions during his career at Oklahoma. Grade: Starter

No. 8 – Neville Gallimore | defensive tackle | Original rank: No. 1

Gallimore came in as the crown jewel of what would be Jerry Montgomery’s final recruiting class at Oklahoma. The first Canadian to ever compete in the U.S. All American Bowl, he chose the Sooners over Ohio State, Florida State and more than 30 other schools that offered him. Gallimore has improved each year he has been at Oklahoma and was an honorable mention all-conference player last season. After playing a true zero technique for the past few seasons, he’ll be unleashed and allowed to shoot gaps under Alex Grinch next year,  giving him an opportunity to go from starter to standout in his final season in Norman. Grade: Starter

No. 7 – Kenneth Mann | defensive end | Original rank: No. 20

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds coming out of high school, Mann has added 25 pounds of muscle and become an impact player up front for the Sooners. Mann started every game last year, earning an Honerable Mention All Big 12 nod after recording 50 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble. Mann still has one year left to continue to build his legacy at Oklahoma and should excel in the Sooners’ new one-gap system that will allow him to rack up more stats. Grade: Starter
