Trejan Bridges, wide receiver

Bridges is the lowest rated of the five-star receiver haul for the 2019 class (by just a few fractions of a point), but his talents might make him the best candidate for early playing time.

Bridges can play a plethora of different positions and is comfortable lining at nearly every offensive skill position.  In high school he played wildcat quarterback, running back and both inside and outside receiver as his coaches looked to maximize his impact.

He steps into an opportunity to seize the starting role as the Sooners’ slot receiver, where Nick Basquine and Mykel Jones have both battled through injury problems in the past while redshirt freshman Jaqualyn Crawford is talented, but still unproven to this point. Drake Stoops showed some promise last year in a limited role before redshirting, but might still be a work in progress.

Bridges could also become a dangerous return man for the Sooners, who took a big step in the right direction last year on special teams. Bridges’ ability to make plays in space might just be the catalyst to take an even bigger step on the third side of the ball in 2019.
