Oklahoma football hosted one of its most important recruiting weekends of the year as athletes descended on Norman for junior day.

The Sooners, who have most of their 2019 class already wrapped up with a few exceptions, hosted players from the 2020 and 2021 classes in hopes of adding to the program’s current streak of top 10 hauls.

Seth McLaughlin is a center in the 2020 class with a lengthy offer sheet that includes Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and many others. The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder from Buford, Ga. would likely be the understudy an eventual heir apparent to Creed Humphrey if he were to sign with Oklahoma.

Cody Jackson is a 6-foot, 161-pound wide receiver from Richmond Foster, he was among the attendees over the weekend and seemed to come away impressed with both head coach Lincoln Riley and receivers coach Dennis Simmons. He holds offers from LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma State among others.

6-foot, 165-pound Trevon West wide receiver was also on campus. The Arlington, Texas product picked up an OU offer while he was there. The three-star prospect looks ready to shoot up the rankings as he enters his senior season this year.

Tommy Brockermeyer is a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle from the 2021 class. He is the son of former UT and NFL offensive tackle Blake Brockermeyer and has offers from Oklahoma State, Auburn, LSU and Arkansas among others.

Katy, Texas defensive end Tunmise Adeleye is a major target for the Sooners. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder is going to be one of the most coveted defensive linemen in the 2021 class with an offer sheet that reads like the who’s who of college football. The competition will obviously be tough, but the Sooners have had success recruiting the powerhouse Katy High School in recent years, landing Rodney Anderson a few years back.

Somehow Lincoln Riley managed to not only host a slew of high school athletes, but also celebrate the 2018 Big 12 Championship at the OU-Vanderbilt basketball game and attend meet up with Justin Timberlake at some point on Saturday evening.

While they may not be playing football in Norman right now, there’s really no such thing as the offseason for the Sooners program.
