3. Dec. 4, 2010 — Oklahoma 23, Nebraska 20 in Arlington, Texas

Longtime conference rivals Oklahoma and Nebraska met in the last Big 12 Championship game before it was discontinued in 2010. The Cornhuskers shocked the Sooners, jumping out to a 17-0 advantage before OU was able to get its offense untracked and on the scoreboard. Sooner quarterback Landry Jones led Oklahoma on a comeback that knotted the score at 17-all, but the Huskers broke the tie with 42-yard field goal six seconds before halftime.

The second half was a completely different game as both defenses tightened down the screws. Oklahoma managed the only points of the second half on a pair of field goals by Jimmy Stevens, including the game winner from 27 yards with eight and a half minutes remaining in the game. DeMarco Murray accounted for 128 of the Sooners 454 yards of total offense (68 rushing and 60 receiving), and Kenney Stills caught three passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

This was OU’s seventh conference championship in 11 seasons.
