4. Dec. 7, 2002 — Oklahoma 29, Colorado 7 in Houston, Texas
The seventh-ranked Sooners missed out on the conference title game the year before, but returned to the game in 2002. No. 12 Colorado was the opponent. The Sooners scored 13 first-half points while the OU defense pitched a shutout at the Buffaloes over the first 30 minutes. Colorado scored first in the second half on an 80-yard punt return by Jeremy Bloom, but Oklahoma topped that with 16 points of its own on the way to a 29-7 victory for the Sooners second Big 12 championship in three seasons.
Running back Quentin Griffin led the Sooners with 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Nate Hybl threw two touchdown passes.
