We continue our look at the upcoming Oklahoma football season with a preview of games five through eight of the 2018 campaign.

Outside of the road battle with West Virginia in raucous Morgantown on the final weekend of the regular season, this may be the toughest part of the Sooners’ 2018 schedule.

October begins with the always tough Cotton Bowl battle against archrival Texas, followed by a bye week and then a trip to Fort Worth to face the TCU Horned Frogs. As if that isn’t enough, the Sooners finish October by hosting the Kansas State Wildcats.

If the Sooners navigate these landmines unscathed, their chances of winning yet another Big 12 title and making another College Football Playoff will be greatly enhanced.

Oklahoma can survive losing one of these games, but that means the margin of error will be zero for the remainder of the season. Lose two, and the Sooners’ aspirations will be derailed early in the fall.
