The men’s Oklahoma golf team shot a two-under-par score of 290 in the third round on Sunday and remained in the top five in the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship.

The defending national champion Sooners are at four-over 868 after 54 holes and in fifth place, well under the top-15 cutline, which determined the field for Monday’s fourth round of stroke play. After 54 holes, the 30-team field is sliced in half for the final round of stroke play.

The top eight teams at the conclusion of Monday’s round will move on to match-play team competition on Tuesday and Wednesday, the winner of which will be crowned national champions.

Senior Grant Hirschman led the Sooners on Sunday with a one-under round of 71 at the 7,460-yard Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma, home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the top-seed team in the championship. Hirschman’s round included five birdies. His 71 on Sunday represented a nice rebound from his 76-75 on the first two days of the championship.
