He not only can and does put the ball in the hoop, but he facilitates others doing it, as well

“One of the most valuable skills in the NBA,” writes Sam Quinn  of TheSportsPost.com., “is the ability to generate open shots for others. Quinn calls it the engine that drives the most successful NBA teams (the Houston Rockets being an ideal example).

Young has incredible court vision. He is able to see things before they actually happen and react quicker than the defense.

Breaking it down into its simplest form: Young puts the ball in the hoop. When he isn’t the one who has the best shot opportunity, he facilitates the process by helping his teammates put the ball in the basket. As Quinn writes: No matter what (Young’s) flaws are, those two things alone will make him an NBA superstar.”
