He can play both guard positions and beat you both ways

The NBA values dual-duty guards, those players who are deft distributors of the ball and magicians on the court in directing the offense and can also hurt you with their dead-eye shooting skills. Trae Young possesses both skills.

He is a point guard who can shoot, and that is a dangerous combination if you are a coach or player trying to defend against it.

Make no mistake, Young is best known for his ability to score from any point on the floor, but passing may be his strongest skill on the basketball court. He not only can beat you with the long outlet pass, but his ability to thread the needle through tight half-court defensive alignments is masterful and often lethal.
