#5 – Gonzaga 72, Oklahoma 47, Nov. 23, 2012, in Norman

No. 17-ranked Gonzaga traveled to the Midwest to play Oklahoma in an early season nonconference game in Lon Kruger’s second season as the Sooners’ head coach.

OU was 15-16 in Kruger’s first season in Norman and were off to a 3-0 start in 2012-13 when the Zags came to town. Gonzaga got off to a good start and led the Sooners by 10, 32-22 at the half.

The second half was all Gonzaga, as the Zags outscored OU 40-25 on the way to a 72-47 victory, which at the time was the Sooners’ worst margin of defeat under Kruger.

Romero Osby and Isaiah Cousins were the only Oklahoma players to reach double figures, with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Elias Harris led the way for Gonzaga with a game-high 18 points.

The Sooners couldn’t find an offensive rhythm, shooting just 32 percent for the game. Meanwhile, the Zags shot 46 percent from the field and outrebounded the Sooners by a 23-board margin.

This is going to sound familiar: The Gonzaga bench contributed 27 points, while the Sooner reserves scored a dozen points.
