Rodney Anderson’s out-of-this-world performance

Redshirt sophomore running back Rodney Anderson’s season got off to a slow start, but he’s really got things rolling now…and then some. Anderson had a career performance in the win over TCU, gaining 151 yards on 23 carries, an average of 6.6 yards per carry, and also was on the receiving end of five Mayfield passes for another 139 yards.

His 290 all-purpose yards is the 11th best by an OU player in a single game, and included two rushing and two passing touchdowns for a total of four in the game.

Anderson became the third player in school history to run for 100 yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game (Joe Mixon in 2016 and Steve Sewell in 1984 are the other two).

In his first five games this season, Anderson had a total of 82 rushing yards. In his last four games he has rushed for 590 yards, including a 181-yard performance against Texas Tech. He has exceeded 100 yards rushing in each of the last four games.
