The 74 all-time Oklahoma football wins over Kansas State represent the third most by a Sooner team over any opponent.

The Sooners also own 74 wins over Iowa State and Kansas, and have 86 all-time victories over in-state rival Oklahoma State.

In the 21-year history of the Big 12, Oklahoma owns an 11-6 record over Kansas State. All 11 of those victories along with three of the losses came while Bob Stoops was the Sooners’ head coach.

Fifteen of the 17 games between the two schools under the Big 12 banner have been in the regular season, and the Sooners and Wildcats have met twice in the Big 12 Championship, splitting the two conference title games.

Seven times in the 17 games between OU and K-State as members of the Big 12, both teams came into the game ranked among the nation’s top 25 teams. In 14 games at least one of the two teams was ranked.

Eight of the games were decided by 10 or fewer points and two by only a single point.

So what have been the five best football games between Oklahoma and Kansas State in the Big 12 era? Here are the five we picked, and all five have a common denominator: They all are games pitting the teacher (head coach Bill Snyder of Kansas State) against his pupil (Bob Stoops, who coached under Snyder at Kansas State for seven seasons, from 1989-95).
