On Tuesday night at Lloyd Noble Center, Oklahoma basketball got back in the win column for the first time in eight games, and they did so against the Sooners’ biggest rivals, the Texas Longhorns.

The 70-66 triumph over the Longhorns evened the season series between the two longtime rivals. More importantly, however, it snapped a seven-game winless drought that saw Oklahoma’s season record deteriorate from 8-9 to 8-16 and place the Sooner men in serious danger of losing as many as19 games, which they have not done since the 1968-69 season.

Here are some more notable numbers that came out of the OU win over the Longhorns:

2 – Oklahoma and Texas are the two youngest teams in the Big 12 and two of the youngest in all of college basketball this season.

5 – Steals by OU’s Kameron McGusty that lead to 12 Oklahoma points.

8 – Largest lead held by either team in the game.

9 – Turnovers by the Sooners, compared with 13 committed by the Longhorns.

10:22 – Time remaining in the game when Oklahoma took its first lead of the second half, 51-49.

12 – Texas has lost all 12 game this season that it has played away from Austin.
