Bob Stoops’ 14 10-Win Seasons in His 18 Years at Oklahoma

Bob Stoops is the winningest head coach in Oklahoma’s illustrious football history. In his 18 seasons at OU, he has taken the Sooners to 17 consecutive postseason bowl games, including playing for the national championship four different times and winning it once. His team have won nine Big 12 championships, and he is on his way this season to make it 10.

The Sooners have won 11 or more games 11 times in Stoops’ 18 seasons in Norman, and 10 or more 14 times prior to this year. That is a record even OU coaching legends Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer cannot lay claim to.

Stoops’ worst season at Oklahoma was his first one in 1999. He won seven games that season with the team he inherited from his predecessor John Blake. That is the fewest games Stoops has won in a season as the Sooners’ head coach. Since 2000, no college coach has won as many games as Bob Stoops has at Oklahoma.

If that’s not something to be thankful for, I don’t know what is.
