Ten Most Indispensable Oklahoma Football Players in 2016

Senior Jordan Evans Keys a Young, Unproven Linebacker Group
In recent seasons, Oklahoma has been loaded with big-play linebackers with NFL-caliber talent. That is not the case this season as the departure of four starters from last season left the cupboard bare at the linebacker position.
Senior Jordan Evans is the lone returning starter, and he will be counted on heavily to lead the middle of the OU defense in 2016. He was the team’s second leading tackler in 2015 with 83 total. He recorded 11 tackles twice last season and had three games with nine tackles each.
Evans also defended four passes, broke up four pass attempts and created four forced fumbles a year ago.
Last week, Evans was named one of four team captains for the Sooners in 2016. At 6-foot, 3-inches and close to 240 pounds, he is at an ideal size for the linebacker position, and he is quick on his feet, which makes Evans a major disruptive force on the defensive side of the ball.
It will be important for Evans to stay healthy and on the field if Oklahoma is to go far in 2016.
