Orlando Brown Anchors the Oklahoma Offensive Line
Orlando Brown could be playing at Alabama, Auburn, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida State or Clemson. He was heavily recruited by all of them. But instead, he anchors the offensive line at Oklahoma, and that is a very good thing for the Sooners.
Brown, who stands 6-foot, 8-inches tall and tips the scales at around 357 pounds, is a returning starter from last season. That is more the size of an NFL tackle. He is one of just 10 Sooners to start a game at offensive tackle as a freshman.
Brown started all 13 games for Oklahoma a year ago. As a left tackle, he is the lineman primarily responsible for protecting the blind side of OU quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield.
His play in 2015 earned Brown freshman All-American acclaim from the Sporting News and selection to the All-Big 12 second team on offense.
