What About Clemson?

On the basis of the last two games between Oklahoma and Clemson, you would think Clemson would have a place on the list of opponents the Sooners would prefer not to see on the schedule anytime soon.

Oklahoma is 2-3 in the five games between the two teams, but it is the last two meetings that have left such a rotten taste in the mouths of Sooner fans.

In back-to-back bowl matchups between OU and Clemson, most recently a year ago in the College Football Playoff, the Tigers manhandled the Sooners by scores of 40-6 in 2014 and 37-17 last season.

The first two games between the Sooners and the Tigers, in 1963 and 1972, with Oklahoma ranked in the top five both times, the Sooners won both by a combined score of 83-17. In the three games since, Clemson has outscored OU 90-29.

Enough said.
