Anthony Bowie (1984-86), Fourth Team Guard
Anthony Bowie played guard on two Oklahoma men’s teams, averaging 13 point a game in both seasons (1984-85 and 1985-86). His first season at OU, the Sooners won 31 games and lost only 6, tied for the second most wins in school history.
The Sooners were Big Eight champions in 1984-85, going 13-1 in conference play.
Bowie ranks 12th all-time in OU career assists. He recorded 362 in two seasons, an average of five per game.
A small forward/shooting guard at Oklahoma, Bowie was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the third round of the 1986 NBA Draft. He played eight seasons in the NBA, averaging 6.4 points and 2 assists for his career. His best NBA season was 1991-92, when he averaged 14.6 points and 3.1 assists per game with the Orlando Magic. He also played professionally in Europe.
