Saturday marks the 110th renewal of the Bedlam Series in football between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. This in-state rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in college football.
The first game in the series was contested in 1904 and played in Guthrie, Okla., approximately halfway between the two campuses. Oklahoma State was known then as Oklahoma A&M. The Sooners won the inaugural game handily, winning by a score of 75-0.
Oklahoma won the first 11 games in the series over their in-state rivals located 85 miles up the road to the north. In fact, the Cowboys did not score a single point until the ninth game of the series, and then it was just six points. Over the first 11 games of the series, in the very early days of Bedlam, the Sooners outscored the Cowboys 235 to 20.
In a series in which there have been over 100 games played, you know there were some truly great ones. We’ve picked out what we consider the five best in the Big 12 era, now in its 20th year.
