Oklahoma has always been played tough by Kansas State during the coaching reign of Wildcat head coach Bill Snyder. No coach in the Big 12 gets more out of less than Snyder. K-State does not have near the talent or as wide a recruiting net that a program like Oklahoma has. Yet, since Bob Stoops became the head coach at OU, every game against K-State have been very competitive.
In 16 previous seasons, Oklahoma has suffered only eight losses at home. Two of those eight have come at the hands of Snyder and Kansas State. This year’s game is at K-State, however, where the Sooners have been more successful than they have against the Wildcats in Norman. The Sooners have won the last five times they have visited Manhattan, Kan.
OU again has a superior talent advantage over Kansas State in 2015, but that doesn’t seem to matter when you go up against a Bill Snyder-coached team and especially a K-State team that is playing at home.
The Sooners haven’t been able to put away Kansas State in Norman, which is extremely rare under Bob Stoops. The fact that this season’s game with K-State is on the road, in front of a proud and heavily passionate purple-clad faithful is why the Sooners will be very fortunate to get out of town with a sixth consecutive win at Kansas State.
