Is Trevor Knight a one-hit wonder?
"The world is full of one-hit wonders. Vanilla Ice. Buster Douglas. Harper Lee. Yet Oklahoma’s chance of seriously contending in the first year of the College Football Playoff hinges on whether Trevor Knight’s Sugar Bowl performance was a one-off. Or instead, a sign of what’s to come. “I expect that every game,” said the Sooners’ sophomore quarterback. “That’s the baseline. I want to build on top of that.” Read more at ESPN"
Joe Mixon watches OU scrimmage from sideline
"Freshman running back Joe Mixon isn’t practicing still as the investigation into a July 26 incident near campus continues but Mixon was in attendance Saturday morning as the Sooners went through a scrimmage at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Midwest City defensive back Will Sunderland posted a picture on Twitter of Mixon watching the scrimmage. Mixon was involved in an altercation in the early morning hours July 26 at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe. Amelia Rae Molitor, a 20-year-old OU student, accused Mixon of punching her once in the face, breaking four bones. Mixon has said through his attorney that he acted in self defense. Trevor Knight Shines In Scrimmage | Sooners Leave The Field Healthy
"Sophomore quarterback Trevor Knight was really better than good. Going into the season there is a lot of confidence in Oklahoma’s defense and while they got the best of the offense more than a few times but Trevor Knight also had his shining moments, including a touchdown run. Durron Neal continued his impressive summer with some nice grabs and separation from defensive backs. I firmly believe that he is entrenched not only as a starter but also as a key playmaker within the offense. Read more at CC Machine"

Jenks grad Smallwood enjoying chance to be back on field with Sooners
"College football players do not typically describe fall camp as “fun.” Oklahoma’s Jordan Smallwood went against the grain during a recent interview. Why? Anything beats last year, when his freshman season was closed by surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury, a foot fracture suffered late last summer. “Camp has been going very good,” said Smallwood, a Jenks High School graduate. “Last year I didn’t get to play as much. It is like my first time doing two-a-days. It’s been a blessing to do that and it’s been fun.” Read more at Tulsa World"
Billy Sims Helps Gordon Youth Foundation Give Back
"It would be easy for Billy Sims to sit at home and think about his great college career or even his bar-b-que business. Instead he’s giving back to area youth. Sims was on hand for the annual Gordon Youth Foundation Scholarship Banquet Saturday night at Fianna Hills Country Club to help recognize area students. The Gordon Youth Foundation helps students from both Arkansas and Oklahoma with scholarships for college who might not be able to afford the chance to further their education and it’s a cause that Sims is more than happy to help win.
