Honorable Mention:

Allen Patrick (2005-2007) — When Adrian Peterson went down in 2006, Patrick was a serviceable replacement that helped carry Oklahoma to a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Boise State. He ran for 1,009 yards in 2007, though, Patrick and Oklahoma would yet again lose in the Fiesta Bowl.

Renaldo Works (2000-2003) — Recording 21 touchdowns in his career, Works is probably best known for his “miracle run” against Alabama in 2002.

Mossis Madu (2007-2010) – He was one of the workhorses apart of the 2008 team, though, his production fell off once DeMarco Murray returned to full strength.

Jacob Guiterrez (2005-2007) — A small, yet powerful back, Guiterrez had a monster game in a thrilling double overtime victory over Baylor in 2005, after Peterson suffered an injury.
