When Trey Metoyer committed to OU, he was the first five-star receiver in Oklahoma history. Unfortunately, Metoyer missed out on playing that year because of grades and he had to attend a military academy to get his grades up. Then, Metoyer showed up in 2012 and laid an egg.

The five-star recruit came in and lost his starting job to a transfer named Jalen Saunders, and heading into the 2013 season, it is Saunders and Sterling Sheppard who own the two main starting receiver roles. However, it’s not too late for Metoyer. Oklahoma receivers’ coach Jay Norvell said that there is a chance in Metoyer this year and a new maturity.

Trey Metoyer better hope there is a change because Jaz Reynolds is also returning this season, and he has already proven he has what it takes to play at a high level.
