Oklahoma Sooners vs. Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks: 5 Keys to Victory
Home Field Advantage
It isn’t as big as it was two years ago. There was a time where no one could beat Oklahoma in Norman. The Sooners had one of the longest home winning streaks in the nation until Texas Tech embarrassed them in 2011. Then, in 2012, Oklahoma lost to Kansas State and Notre Dame in Norman. That is three losses in two years at Gaylord Memorial Stadium. Before that, OU had not lost at home since Sept. 3, 2005.
Three losses in seven years isn’t that bad, but they are all recent, so it takes away some of the luster of home field advantage. It is time to earn that back. There isn’t a game this season in Norman that the Sooners won’t be favored to win, and it all starts tonight against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.
It’s time to take back Owen Field.
