The Oklahoma men's basketball team revealed its 2026-27 season schedule on Monday.
The Sooners have a light non-conference slate before Porter Moser's team begins SEC competition, where the group will compete against a handful of the nation's top college basketball teams.
OU is coming off a 21-16 campaign that saw the Sooners start 11-3 before dropping nine consecutive contests in SEC play. Oklahoma closed the regular season with four consecutive wins and won its first two games in the SEC Tournament, but the team's late push wasn't enough to earn the group a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
This year, the team will have another tough path to March Madness, as the SEC appears to feature a slew of strong squads again in 2026-27.
Oklahoma lost two of its three top scorers, Nijel Pack and Tae Davis, and its top rebounder, Mohamed Wague, in addition to a few other rotation players. Moser and company brought in Khani Rooths, Tyler Hendricks, Pop Isaacs and Yaak Yaak from the transfer portal to help replace the team's lost production, also adding incoming freshman Gage Mayfield, a four-star recruit.
Despite the team's additions, the SEC schedule will likely be a gauntlet for Oklahoma. CBS Sports' Gary Parrish ranked Florida No. 1 in the nation in his most recent Top 25, which also featured Texas at No. 5 and Arkansas at No. 10. Three other SEC teams earned spots in Parrish's rankings, as well as Purdue, which is also on the Sooners' 2026-27 schedule.
With a tough conference slate, OU will need to have a strong showing in non-conferece play to have a chance at reaching the NCAA Tournament, as wins will likely be hard to come by in the SEC.
