Is there a chance the richest man in the world is a fan of the most successful softball program in the United States?

Elon Musk on Thursday posted on X, which he owns, a picture of a bill, but what was in the background is what caught the eyes of Sooner Nation. On the right side, only partially showing, was a poster that was obviously of Oklahoma softball celebrating one of its national championships.

Musk has 208.2 million followers on X. The post, less than 24 hours later, has been shared over 31,000 times, has over 312,000 likes and has over 13,000 comments. Obviously most of those interactions are not because of poster in the background, but OU fans, and even softball players and alumni, immediately noticed it and had questions.

According to Forbes, Musk is the richest person in the world with a net worth of $432.6 billion. That's with a B. The second-richest person in the world is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with a net worth of $233.9 billion. Musk's fortune is almost twice that.

Imagine that NIL funding.

Musk has gained his fortune as CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and other business ventures. He's extremely active on X after purchasing the social media account, which was then named Twitter, in 2022. Musk has also recently gotten into American politics.

Like Musk, everything Patty Gasso touches also turns to gold. Gasso has led the OU softball program for 30 seasons and has won eight national championships. The Sooners have claimed the last four national titles in a row. OU is the only softball program to ever accomplish that feat.
