Surpisingly, we hadn't seen this before.

Jalen Hurts found tight end Grant Calcaterra for a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles' 22-16 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The score with 13:45 left gave the Eagles the lead and ultimately proved to be the game-winner after Saquon Barkley got in for the two-point conversion.

It was the first touchdown of Calcaterra's career in his third NFL season.

Despite being teammates at Oklahoma in 2019 and the past three seasons in Philadelphia, it was also the first time Hurts and Calcaterra connected for a touchdown. Calcaterra was sidelined most of Hurts' lone season with OU.

Calcaterra actually retired from football in 2020 because of multiple concussions. He played at OU for three seasons, catching 41 passes for 637 yards and nine TDs as a Sooner. His least productive season was that 2019 campaign with Hurts, playing in only three games while recording five receptions and 79 receiving yards.

Once he returned to football in 2021, though, Calcaterra finished his career at SMU. He set career-highs in receptions and receiving yards with 38 and 465, respectively, with the Mustangs.

Calcaterra was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Since, he has amassed 29 receptions, 352 receiving yards and now the one TD. This has been the best season of his career so far, though, with 20 catches and 232 receiving yards.

The win Sunday improved the Eagles to 11-2 and clinched a playoff spot. They will host the 10-3 Pittsburgh Steelers next at 3:25 p.m. CT Sunday.
