Former Miami guard Nijel Pack has been granted an NCAA medical waiver and is eligible to play at Oklahoma in the 2025-26 season, CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported on Tuesday.

Pack transferred to Oklahoma this offseason after three seasons at Miami. He played in just nine game for the Hurricanes last season because of a foot injury.

Nijel Pack cleared for sixth season

This will be the Indianapolis native's sixth season of collegiate basketball. After this season, Pack will have played for three different teams in three different power conferences (Big 12, ACC and SEC). He began his career at Kansas State, where he played two seasons in 2020-22.

Pack is 40.3% from 3-point range for his career and has averaged 14.3 points and 3.0 assists over five seasons. Before his injury last season, he averaged 13.9 points and 4.3 assists per game.

Oklahoma is coming off a 20-14 season overall in 2024-25 and a 6-12 mark and 13th-place tie in its debut as a member of the SEC.

Pack joined four other transfer additions to the 2025-26 Oklahoma roster. Porter Moser has added 6-foot-9, 240-pound interior player Tae Davis, who came to OU from Notre Dame, where he averaged 15.1 points per game last season. OU also brought in 6-foot-8 swingman Derrion Reid, a former McDonald's All-American who averaged 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 24 games as a freshman at Alabama last season.

Pack will likely start in the OU backcourt next season alongside fellow transfer Xavier Brown from St. Joseph. Brown averaged 17.6 points and was a first-team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season.
