It's about time for some former Oklahoma Sooners to start impressing NFL scouts.
Three former OU defenders were included on the invite list for the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, including defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., linebacker Danny Stutsman and defensive lineman Ethan Downs.
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine will be Feb. 24-March 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana. You can see the full list of the 329 prospects invited here.
Right now, most NFL Draft experts predict Bowman and Stutsman to go in the third round. Bowman already helped himself out with a stellar showing during the Senior Bowl. He should also benefit from the NFL Scouting Combine with his speed, although his size at only 5-foot-10 could hinder him some during measurements.
Bowman gained plenty of exprience at OU with 41 starts. He was also used as a return man.
Stutsman didn't participate in the Senior Bowl even though he was invited. He finished his college career with 378 total tackles, 36 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three interceptions and four forced fumbles in 37 starts and 47 games.
He finished his senior season as a consensus All-American and Butkus Award finalist after choosing to stay another season instead of entering the NFL Draft last year.
Downs started 37 games at OU and earned All-Big 12 honors twice. At 6-foot-4 and 263 pounds, Downs tallied 110 total tackles and 12.5 sacks.
Rarely showing up on NFL Draft reports so far, Downs could really use a strong showing in Indianapolis to get on the radar of some NFL franchises.
The 2025 NFL Draft will be April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of the Packers.
