Holy smokes.

In his fourth career start, Michael Hawkins Jr. pulled off a play during the Armed Forces Bowl against Navy that's sure to be on SportsCenter's Top 10 on Friday night.

Hawkins immediately went to his left from the pocket while still keeping his eyes downfield. But as pressure came and no one was open, Hawkins turned around and scrambled the other way to his right. After getting to the other hash and while still running, Hawkins found Zion Kearney downfield and flicked his wrist to complete a 56-yard TD.

The touchdown put the Sooners ahead 14-0 still with 5:56 left in the first quarter. OU reached the end zone on its first two possessions.

The score was also Kearney's first career TD as a freshman. He was one of three freshman receivers to start for the Sooners as they have only one non-freshman receiver on the depth chart in walk-on redshirt senior Major Melson, who has never caught a pass in college.

The play that showed off Hawkins' ability to escape and his arm strength had Sooner Nation and college football fans around the country buzzing, even drawing comparisons to OU's Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray.
