A college football staple every Saturday morning, ESPN announced Thursday that Lee Corso is retiring as an analyst on "College GameDay."
Corso has been part of the weekly show since it started in 1987. His last show will be the first of the 2025 season on Aug. 30. With Corso's birthday being on Aug. 7, he will be 90 years old for his final appearance and last famous headgear selection.

Lee Corso's final ESPN's 'College GameDay' show will be Week 1 presumably between Texas, Ohio State
ESPN hasn't officially announced yet its first "College GameDay" location of the season, but it will presumably be in Columbus, Ohio, where the defending national champions Ohio State Buckeyes will host the Texas Longhorns as they usher in the Arch Manning era.
No college football fan will want to miss Corso's final time dramatically choosing a mascot head to put on, no matter how agonizing both choices are.
Corso waving while donning a Bevo head is not an image Sooner Nation wants burned into their memory. However, Brutus Buckeye's eyes staring through a TV while on Corso's torso is also not a fun way to start any Saturday, let alone the first full one of college football season.
Unfortunately, there's really no good final choice Corso can make for any fanbase, other than Texas or Ohio State.
The location actually is fitting and full-circle, though. Corso's headgear tradition started in 1995 at Ohio State. Since, he's gone 286-144 in his selections and has picked the Buckeyes to win 45 times, more than any other school.
Corso's final appearance in Norman was last season when "College GameDay" was at Oklahoma for the Sooners' first SEC game against the Tennessee Volunteers. Corso correctly picked the Volunteers.
During his time making headgear selections, Corso picked the Sooners 18 times and went 11-7 when choosing OU.
