While the Oklahoma baseball teams is busy at work at the Men's College World Series contending for a national championship, the Sooners' men's and women's track and field teams were doing the same at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Graduate student Ralford Mullings successfully defended his national title in the men's discus with a winning throw of 65.81 meters (215 feet, 11 inches) to become the first multiple-time men's outdoor national champion in OU track and field history and the 15th men's outdoor national title holder.
In the two seasons Mullings has been at Oklahoma after transferring from Arkansas, he has compiled a 9-0 record in the event in scored competitions and earned two national championships.

Oklahoma's finish tied for 16th place in the men's division of this year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, matching the program's second-highest outdoor finish since 2007.
Oklahoma also picked up a bronze medal with senior BJ Green placing third in the men's triple jump with a distance of 16.78 meters (55 feet, 0.75 inches). With the performance, Green earned First Team All-America honors for the sixth time in his career. He departs Oklahoma as a two-time NCAA outdoor champion in the triple jump, two-time SEC outdoor champion and two-time Big 12 champion.
There were several Oklahoma women's performers in action on Saturday, the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Chesni Scott earned a Second Team All-America selection with a throw of 55.39 meters (181 feet, 8 inches) in the discus. It was a season-best performance by the redshirt sophomore, earning her a 12th-place finish.
Freshman Domtila Cheruto paced 15th in the women's 5,000 meters on Saturday with a time of 15:47.30, earning her Second Team All-America honors. Two days earlier, she finished 10th in the 10,000 meters, which also earned her All-America honors.
Senior Angel Moore concluded her Oklahoma track career with a 17th-place finish in the women's heptathlon on Saturday.
Oklahoma finished the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor seasons with 18 NCAA Championships qualifying marks, six First Team All-America selections, eight Second Team All-America honors, two SEC champions and 10 school records.
