The Oklahoma baseball team clinched another SEC series, and did so in front of a lot of Sooner fans.
The No. 19 Sooners on Saturday destroyed No. 17 Vanderbilt 14-0 in a seven-inning run-rule in Game 2 of the top-20 SEC baseball series in Norman. OU beat the Commodores 9-4 in Game 1 on Friday night before clinching the series early the next day.
A crowd of 5,051 fans were at L. Dale Mitchell Park to witness the beatdown. That number set a new single-game attendance record at an OU baseball home game. That total also included a reported 877 OU students.

Sooners set attendance record in win against Vanderbilt
Sooner Nation was rewarded with quite the show for showing out. OU put up three early runs in the first and another in the third before exploding for seven in the fourth.
That seven-run inning was enough to push OU to a run-rule and headed home early after another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
After his Friday scheduled start was pushed back because of back spasms, ace Kyson Witherspoon took the mound for the Sooners in Game 2 and never gave it up. He went the distance while giving up only two hits, striking out six and walking none in the complete-game shutout.
Of all Witherspoon has accomplished at OU as one of the top MLB Draft prospects in the country, the performance was his first complete-game shutout at OU. The outing improved him to 6-2 on the season with a 2.08 ERA in nine starts.
