The Oklahoma Sooners will take on the LSU Tigers right in the middle of the day, and Sooner Nation is once again disappointed by the kickoff time its team was dealt.

The SEC on Monday announced that the Sooners’ regular-season finale against LSU on Nov. 29 will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT from Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. A TV network wasn’t confirmed yet, with ABC and ESPN both still on the table.

Oklahoma fans disappointed with kickoff time vs LSU

The Week 14 primetime slot for ABC went to the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn. It’s a historical rivalry, but the Sooners just beat the Crimson Tide, and the Tigers are 4-6, including a loss to OU, and without a head coach.

The Sooners have had just two real night games this season despite a loaded schedule with big-time games, and only one was at home. OU hosted Michigan Week 2, and that matchup not only earned primetime on ABC, but also drew ESPN College GameDay to Oklahoma.

Three weeks ago, the Sooners played Tennessee under the lights at Neyland Stadium and won 33-27. With OU playing Missouri at 11 a.m. CT Saturday on ABC and now LSU in the afternoon, that trip to Tennessee will end up being the Sooners’ only SEC game in primetime and OU won't get a conference night game at home. It also means OU will be 2-0 with a pair of ranked victories in primetime games during the regular season.

Sooner Nation was disappointed just last week when the Sooners’ marquee game at Alabama was also given the 2:30 p.m. slot on ABC. Georgia-Texas, which was ultimately a blowout, was the night cap on Saturday.

Despite not getting the spotlight most weeks, OU has still been one of the top-10 most watched college football teams this season, with most programs coming from the SEC.

The Sooners are 8-2 and right in the middle of the College Football Playoff conversation after back-to-back road upsets. Meanwhile, LSU is 6-4 and has already fired its head coach, yet even with their struggles, the Tigers still have eight night games on their schedule. OU didn’t get to benefit from ESPN’s primetime love for the Tigers, though.

With all that considered, OU fans voiced their displeasure about the Sooners missing out on their final chance to turn the lights on at Memorial Stadium.
