Week 9 in the SEC may have been the most uneventful week of action in the conference this season. It was without the chaos and surprises we have grown accustomed to seeing virtually every week in head-to-head league competition.
Only five games were scheduled this past weekend involving teams in the SEC, and the favorite held serve in four of the five contests. The lone exception was an embarrassing loss by Oklahoma, steamrolled by a surging South Carolina team that has strung together three consecutive wins, two of which have been on the road as underdogs.
The top eight positions in the Week 10 SEC Power Rankings remain unchanged from a week ago, as do the final three spots. The only movement was in spots nine through 13.
All 16 SEC teams are in action on Saturday, including four matchups featuring a pair of top-25 teams: No. 10 Texas is at No. 19 Missouri, No. 9 Alabama visits No. 15 LSU, No. 8 Kentucky is at No. 16 Tennessee, and No. 12 Ole Miss hosts No. 2 Georgia.
In all, 10 of the 16 SEC teams are ranked in this week's Associated Press Top 25.
Here is how things sort out in Week 10 of the 2026 SEC Power Rankings. Advancement (+), decline (-), or no change (--) is indicated next to the season record of each team.
Week 10 SEC Football Power Rankings
Georgia took care of business at home against Florida over the weekend, defeating the Gators 27-8. The Dawgs will have a tougher challenge this weekend when they travel to Oxford, Mississippi, to face 12th-ranked Ole Miss. Georgia finishes out November with games vs. Missouri, at South Carolina, and the regular-season finale vs. in-state rival Georgia Tech.
Alabama was one of six SEC teams that were idle last weekend. The Crimson Tide faces one more ranked team the rest of the season, and that occurs this weekend in Baton Rouge against 15th-ranked LSU. After that, it's at lowly Vanderbilt, winless in the league so far, vs. Chattanooga, and the Iron Bowl rivalry with Auburn, which this year is in Tuscaloosa.
If Alabama can successfully navigate that closing schedule, the Tide will likely roll into the SEC Championship Game against either Georgia or Kentucky.
Kentucky is easily the most surprising team in the SEC, if not the country, this season.
First-year head coach Will Stein has the Wildcats believing and, most importantly, winning. The Cats have already won two more games than they did all of last season. Kentucky is riding a five-game win streak against SEC opponents after losing its conference season opener to Alabama. The Wildcats have three SEC road wins, and they will be looking for No. 4 when they visit No. 16 Tennessee this weekend. Games vs. Florida, at Missouri, and vs. in-state rival Louisville close out the regular season.
LSU had Week 9 off as the Tigers prepare for one of the toughest November schedules in the SEC. The Tigers host No. 9 Alabama this weekend, followed by welcoming No. 10 Texas to Baton Rouge on Nov. 14, and back-to-back road games at Tennessee and Arkansas to finish out the regular season. LSU has lost 12 of the last 14 meetings against the Crimson Tide.
Texas had little difficulty disposing of Mississippi State, 31-3, to record its third straight home win in as many weeks. The Longhorns take to the road this weekend for a game against No. 19 Missouri. They finish out November at LSU, back home to entertain Arkansas, and at Texas A&M.
Ole Miss is coming off a 45-15 blowout road win at Auburn and is back home this weekend to take on No. 2 and SEC leader Georgia. Ole Miss and Georgia have split the last four games between the two teams, and the Rebels won the last time the game was played in Oxford in 2024.
The Rebs visit struggling Oklahoma on Nov. 14, then return home to finish out the regular season against Wofford and the annual Egg Bowl rivalry game with Mississippi State.
Tennessee was one of the six SEC teams that took the week off last week. The Volunteers are home this weekend and will host Kentucky, winner of its last five games. Tennessee has won 12 of the last 15 meetings, including the last five.
The Vols finish out the regular season at Texas A&M vs. LSU, and at Vanderbilt.
Missouri finished out the second month of the season with a 34-10 road victory at Arkansas over the weekend. The Tigers are one of five SEC teams with two conference losses, and they host 10th-ranked Texas, another of the two-loss conference teams. One of those two teams is going to pick up a third league loss on Saturday.
Missouri's closing schedule includes a trip to 2nd-ranked Georgia, vs. 8th-ranked Kentucky, and the season home finale vs. Oklahoma on Thanksgiving weekend.
South Carolina rolled into the Oklahoma plains over the weekend and left with a dominant 42-25 win over a struggling Sooner team that fired offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle after the embarrassing homecoming performance. The Gamecocks have home games left this weekend against Texas A&M and Georgia on Nov. 21. They are at Arkansas on Nov. 14 and at Clemson on Nov. 28 in the battle for South Carolina.
Florida lost 27-8 at Georgia on Saturday to fall to 3-3 in the conference standings. The Gators will try to bounce back when Oklahoma comes to Gainesville this weekend. The following weekend, Florida is at Kentucky. The Gators finish out the regular season never having to leave the state of Florida. They host Vanderbilt on Nov. 21 and end the month in Tallahassee for the annual rivalry game with Florida State.
Oklahoma continued its disturbing 2026 pattern of following a win with a loss, falling in embarrassing fashion, 42-25, to South Carolina over the weekend. The final score is not really indicative of how one-sided this game was.
Now the Sooners must try to regroup by going on the road to face Florida, which is coming off a one-sided affair of its own in a 27-8 loss to Georgia. Oklahoma finishes off what has been a very disappointing season with home games vs. Ole Miss and Texas A&M, and the season finale at Missouri.
Auburn and Mississippi State traded places this week in the conference power rankings. The Tigers moved up one spot despite a decisive 45-15 home loss to Ole Miss. Mississippi State also lost over the weekend 31-3 to Texas. Auburn and Mississippi State are on a collision course for an SEC showdown in Starkville, Mississippi, on Nov. 14. Before then, though, Auburn needs to take care of business at home against Arkansas.
Mississippi State must play out the remainder of the season without starting quarterback Kamario Taylor, who reinjured his ankle in the loss to Oklahoma and is out for the rest of the season. That is a huge loss for head coach Jeff Lebby and a Mississippi State team that has victories over Missouri and South Carolina this season.
The Bulldogs get some relief this weekend, hosting Vanderbilt, which is still looking for its first SEC win. After that, they have back-to-back home dates vs. Auburn and a non-conference game with Tennessee Tech before closing out the regular season on the road in the annual Egg Bowl battle against Ole Miss.
Texas A&M joins Oklahoma as two most disappointing teams in the SEC this season. The Aggies' only SEC win is 34-7 over Arkansas. A&M was idle last week and gets back to action, having to face one of the hottest teams in the SEC on the road this weekend. The Aggies go up against South Carolina on Saturday and close out the regular season vs. Tennessee, at Oklahoma, and at home against in-state rival Texas.
Arkansas was on the losing end of a 34-10 score at home against Missouri, and the Razorbacks have a formidable schedule ahead of them to finish out the 2026 season. The Hogs are at Auburn this weekend and then finish out the year at home vs. South Carolina, at Texas, and back home to close out the regular season on Thanksgiving weekend, hosting LSU.
Vanderbilt was one of the six SEC teams that did not play this past weekend. The Commodores are back in action this weekend on the road at Mississippi State. They are at home for two of the final three weekends of the regular season: vs. Alabama on Nov. 14, at Florida on Nov. 21, and back home on Nov. 28 to face in-state rival Tennessee.
