Mayfield is unquestionably one of the most decorated quarterbacks in Oklahoma football history. He was on national title contending teams, won the Heisman Trophy in 2017 and is second for most wins among Oklahoma quarterbacks. It’s time to countdown his best 10 wins while at Oklahoma.

10. Tennessee (2015)

The Sooners were on the road in this game against the Volunteers and fell behind 17-0. Facing such a deficit did not fluster Mayfield. Oklahoma and Mayfield showed their toughness and tied the game to force overtime. Mayfield's second passing touchdown of the game put the Sooners in front for good 31-24 in double overtime. Oklahoma then won the game with an interception to seal the comeback win.

9. Ohio State (2017)

This is the second road game for Baker Mayfield on this list. There was no second-half comeback, though, only OU domination. Oklahoma jumped ahead early and did not show any mercy. Mayfield was sensational, logging 385 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Sooners won the game 31-16, claiming an early statement win in a hostile environment. The game’s most famous moment was not a play, but Mayfield running with the OU flag and planting it at midfield to punctuate the Oklahoma win.

8. Baylor (2015)

The 2015 Baylor matchup was undoubtedly OU’s toughest road test of the season. Mayfield and the Sooners' offense delivered in a primetime matchup, chewing up the undefeated Bears for 511 total yards.

Mayfield shined brightest in the national spotlight, recording 270 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Oklahoma won the game 44-34, handing the Bears their first loss and knocked Baylor out of the Big 12 title race and the College Football Playoff picture.

7. Texas (2016)

Mayfield will be beloved by Oklahoma faithful no matter what. He endeared himself even more to Sooner fans by driving OU to another win against rival Texas. Mayfield put on an all-time performance, throwing for 390 yards and three touchdown passes. Oklahoma swarmed Texas early and never relinquished the lead. Mayfield engineered a late drive, ending with a field goal to extend the Sooners' lead to 11 points, 45-34. Oklahoma iced the game, sealing the 45-40 win.

6. Sugar Bowl vs. Auburn (2017)

Mayfield was the Sooners' star of their Sugar Bowl win against Auburn. Oklahoma’s offense steamrolled Auburn by gaining 524 yards. Mayfield shredded the Tigers' defense with 295 passing yards and two touchdown passes. The Sooners overwhelmed Auburn early and built a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma never surrendered the lead and won the game 35-19.

5. Texas Tech (2016)

Oklahoma’s game against Texas Tech and Patrick Mahomes in 2016 was a fireworks show from the start. No defense could stop anyone. Mayfield set an OU single-game record with 545 passing yards and threw seven touchdown passes. The Sooners gained 854 yards in the game. Oklahoma won in shootout fashion, 66-59.

4. Oklahoma State (2017)

The 2017 Bedlam meeting was another shootout with Oklahoma playing rival Oklahoma State. Once again, the Sooners faced no resistance from the Cowboys, cranking out 785 total yards on the day. Mayfield threw for a single-game OU record 598 yards with five touchdown passes. Oklahoma iced the game with a late fourth-quarter touchdown, sealing the 62-52 Sooner win.

3. Kansas State (2017)

Mayfield was the driving force in another Sooner win, this time playing Kansas State. Mayfield was phenomenal in another showing. The Sooners' offense rolled through the Wildcats' defense, accumulating 619 total yards. Mayfield was the game’s best player, throwing for 410 yards and two touchdowns in the 42-35 win.

2. TCU (2017 Big 12 Championship Game)

The Sooners played TCU for the second time in the 2017 season, this time for the Big 12 title. OU and Mayfield made quick work of their TCU opponent, burying the Horned Frogs 41-17. The Horned Frogs' defense was nothing but a speed bump for Mayfield and the offense gaining 461 yards. Mayfield was marvelous, eclipsing 243 passing yards and four touchdown passes in the 41-17 win while claiming the Big 12 title.

When the 2015 Bedlam game was played, it was unique. The winner of the game would claim the Big 12 title outright. Oklahoma showed its little brother Oklahoma State who was the true king of Oklahoma football. The Sooners raced out to an early 34-10 lead and never showed mercy. OU rolled through the Cowboys' defense for 524 total yards in the 58-23 blowout win. Mayfield did not have a high passing yardage day, but did throw two touchdowns in the Sooners' win.
