What's up with Oklahoma losing 2025 defensive line commitments?
By Chip Rouse
For the second time in less than two weeks, Oklahoma has lost a commitment from a 2025 defensive line recruit.
Ka.Mori Moore, rated as a three-star defensive tackle from Lee's Summit, Missouri, an eastern suburb of Kansas City, announced on Wednesday that he is decommitting from Oklahoma and reopening his recruitment. This comes 10 days after another three-star defensive tackle, Floyd Bouchard, out of Miami, Florida, backed away from his pledge to the Sooners in the 2025 class.
Where once there were three defensive tackle commitments in Oklahoma's 2025 class, there now is just one: Trent Wilson, another three-star prospect, from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The Sooners also have commitments from edge rushers Alexander Shieldnight and C.J. Nickson in the 2025 class.
Moore had been committed to Oklahoma since July 2023. He told Sports Illustrated.com earlier this year that his relationship with head coach Brent Venables and defensive assistant coaches Todd Bates and Miquel Chavis is what sold him on OU. "They know what they want. They know what they're doing," Moore said. "So, I want to be great, so I want to be around the greatest. I want to be coached by some of the greatest."
Moore selected Oklahoma over Nebraska, Michigan State and Iowa State. Boucard will probably end up closer to home at Miami, which along with Oklahoma and USC were the finalists in his recruitment when he chose OU. Regardless, this leaves the Sooners with more work to do in bringing in a couple more defensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Oklahoma, with 21 2025 commitments to date, ranks No. 7 in the Rivals 2025 class rankings and No. 11 in the 247Sports class rankings.
