1. To Coach Venables: "Outside of these 3 players you brought, who do you consider to be the team's captain?
Obviously, Stutsman and Bowman are team captains. These two players could've left Norman for the NFL following last season, but they decided to stay and increase their draft stock. Jackson Arnold is the starting quarterback, so you have to bring him. Who else could've come to media days and represented the program?
Our guess is either receiver Jalil Farooq, Cornerback Gentry Williams, Running Back Gavin Sawchuk, or Defensive End Ethan Downs.
The Sooners are lucky to have a ton of depth entering this season. In fact, this is the deepest roster of talent Brent Venables has had to work with during his tenure as the Sooners' head coach, especially defensively.
It would be interesting to know the other emerging leaders on the squad. We know there are a ton of names on the defensive side of the ball, and the offense has a few as well.
